Jarelle Dampier is a Los Angeles based writer, director & artist with 10 years of experience telling stories in animation & contributing to projects like Invincible, Kung Fu Panda 4, and Spiderman: Across The Spider-Verse.
After years in storyboards, the global pandemic offered a moment to consider passions left behind. It was time to write again. Jarelle began building pitch decks and writing short films, convinced that original stories are the most powerful investments he could make.
Dampier directed The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse story, for Sony Pictures Animation. A genre-bending short film about mental health, anxiety, and the pressures of being a young adult in a demanding world from the perspective of a Marvel superhero.
The short is based off of an actual panic attack the director experienced and is an homage to the survival horror video games and films he enjoyed growing up.
Now, Jarelle spends his time developing original ideas for film & tv in both the animated and live-action spaces, while writing and drawing graphic novels.
